Responsibilities
Feature Management:
- Manage the implementation of HbbTV features on our Smart TV OS platform with R&D.
- Define and prioritize the HbbTV roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to develop and enhance HbbTV functionalities.
- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify and integrate new HbbTV features.
Content Strategy and Regional Customization:
- Define the importance and priority of regional content, focusing on key markets.
Work with content acquisition teams to ensure the availability and optimization of relevant content per region.
- Stay updated with regional content regulations and standards to ensure compliance within the European broadcasting sector that may impact the HbbTV platform
Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams (product, engineering, QA, support) for HbbTV-related matters.
- Provide clear and comprehensive briefs to QA teams, outlining the scope and priorities of HbbTV-related testing.
- Foster and manage strong relationships with broadcasters, content providers, and industry stakeholders.
Industry Representation:
- Represent the company at HbbTV industry events, workshops, and conferences throughout the year.
- Present our HbbTV capabilities and roadmap to industry peers, gathering feedback and insights.
- Collaborate with a QA or support representative during these events to address technical questions and showcase our commitment to quality
Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
- Monitor the performance and usage of HbbTV features, gathering user feedback for continuous improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of HbbTV features, development progress, and market impact.
- Identify and mitigate any risks or issues related to HbbTV features in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Educational Background and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing HbbTV or similar interactive TV technologies.
- Strong understanding of HbbTV standards, protocols, and market trends.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HbbTV-related technologies.
- Familiarity with Smart TV platforms, middleware, and broadcast technologies.
- Experience with QA processes and tools, particularly in the context of TV and multimedia applications.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and departments.
Industry Knowledge and Networking:
- Knowledge of the HbbTV ecosystem, including key players and industry trends.
- Existing relationships with broadcasters, content providers, and industry associations are a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently to attend industry events and meet with stakeholders.
