Popular TV series and movies on Runtime include:

  • Ciudad de Dios (City of God): The critically acclaimed, intense Brazilian crime drama is a massive favorite for cinema lovers streaming on Runtime in Spain.
  • Palm Springs: A contemporary, highly rated sci-fi romantic comedy starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti about two wedding guests stuck in a time loop.
  • El Maquinista (The Machinist): The classic, unsettling psychological thriller starring Christian Bale (famous for his extreme physical transformation for the role).
  • Rebelde: The massively popular youth telenovela phenomenon continues to drive massive streaming numbers in Spain.
  • The Hurt Locker: The tense, Oscar-winning war thriller by Kathryn Bigelow follows a U.S. Army bomb disposal team during the Iraq War, renowned for its visceral realism and edge-of-your-seat suspense.
  • Cloud Atlas: The ambitious, visually stunning sci-fi epic - co-directed by the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer - weaves six interconnected stories across centuries, featuring an ensemble cast (Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant) each playing multiple roles.

"With Runtime we give our viewers a massive injection of premium entertainment without adding another line item to their household budget. It’s about delivering incredible value on top of what they already have, proving that great TV doesn't have to come with a price tag," said Lucas Huang, VP Content Distribution at Whale TV.

"We need to be everywhere the audience is, especially in regions where traditional streaming platforms have a limited footprint," said JP Garcia, Head of Audience Development at Runtime. "Partnering with Whale TV is a massive milestone for us because of their incredible, established reach across Europe and Latin America. Launching on a platform of this scale allows us to bring our premium content directly into millions of households that other providers miss, giving those viewers an abundance of great, free TV on top of their current options."
